Unnecessary monthly expenses
Posted by Alex as Consumer, Tips and Advice
How much do you pay each month for cable TV? $40? $50? Let’s say. $40. That means that in a year, you spend $480 on cable TV. And how much time do you actually spend watching the TV on a weekly basis? If you’re a productive member of society maybe just a few hours, perhaps with weekends perhaps with the most hours in a day.
The thing is, the $40 you’re paying is basically for the whole 24/7 deal each month. That simply means that you’re paying for cable TV minutes that you don’t even get to use. And how many channels do you actually get to watch from the hundreds that you get?
And it’s not just the cable bill that actually wastes away your money this way. There’s also the gym membership that you only get to use a few hours a week. If you’ve been really busy maybe just a few hours each month. Or perhaps that ultra-high speed Internet that you only use for YouTube videos and updating your Facebook status.
Always do the math. Its when you stare at the bare numbers that you’d often see the value (or, in most cases, the waste) generated by your lifestyle. If it costs you money and isn’t vital to what you do, plug the spending leak and cancel it.
