Sporting apparel company Nike announced that it will be cutting an expected 1,750 jobs worldwide – 5% of its total global workforce.

500 jobs are expected to be lost in the company’s own headquarters in Oregon though Nike had not revealed which departments will be taking the hit.

Nike previously announced last February that it will be cutting jobs as part of its business realignment efforts. It is looking for a more streamlined and leaner workforce by reducing layers of management.
