IRS to look at 100,000 home buyer credit claims

HouseAs always, whenever there’s money involved, crooks will be around.

The IRS will be hunting down 100,000 tax credit claims for first-time home buyers according to the Wall Street journal.

As part of the government’s stimulus plan, an $8,000 tax credit was made available to those who will be owning homes for the first time.

That was one of the reasons why the housing market got quite the boost it needed.

The House of Representatives has prompted the IRS to scrutinize these claims. The agency is currently looking at 167 “criminal schemes” involving home buyer tax credit.
