Fire some then hire some. Search engine giant Google seems to be one company not too troubled by the economic slump. Even in their announcement to lay off 200 employees, it stated that it will hire 360 to replenish its ranks.
Google’s layoffs are basically part of the company’s restructuring and not by financial troubles. Google stated they were over-staffed in some areas and need to let go of 100 full-time recruiters. The company will also board up broadcast its radio ad service which would lead to 40 more layoffs.
Its website, however, boats of job openings for 300 more people in various positions like sales and marketing and engineering signifying that the company is only shifting its manpower priorities.
Company spokesperson Matt Furman said, “Overlapping organizations in one part of the company, doesn’t affect the limited need for more people in another part of the company.”
