GE trims the fat, sells off NBC

Posted by Alex as Corporate

General ElectricEven with the recession over, coporate America seems to bent on streamlining their ranks to get in better position for profitability. Such is the case with probably the last business conglomerate.

General Electric sell off its media and entertainment division NBC Universal to Comcast. GE will instead be focusing on its core infrastructure that includes energy, trasnportation, health care units and finance.

GE’s infrastructure business was critical for the conglomerate to actually stave off the ill effects of the economic storm, all while NBC’s profits have gone down by 27%

This must mean a huge revamp to 30 Rock’s storyline, huh?
