Steve Jobs should be more than happy with his life right now. He’s got a new liver for starters. His company gets quite the boost in iPhone sales. The iPhone 3GS just launched and has already shipped more than 1 million units over the last weekend.

This number exceeded analysts’ estimates ranging from half a million to 800,000. The running figures even matched last year’s release of the iPhone 3G. This is even despite the 3GS being launched in just 8 countries compared to last year’s 21.

Jobs, in his statement accompanying quarterly reports, said, “Customers are voting and the iPhone is winning. With over 50,000 applications available from Apple’s revolutionary App Store, iPhone momentum is stronger than ever.”
