5 money-saving tips

Posted by Alex as Investing

It’s ’cause we can’t get enough of ways on how to save more cash:

Although it’s good to reward yourself once in a while, it always helps to have this mantra specially when you go shopping – Buy only what you need! Just ask yourself this question, “Do I really need it, or do I just want it?” Buy it if the answer is, “Yes, I do need it.”

Spend only what you have. Even if you’re using credit card, make sure you have the same amount of cash at your disposal. People get into unnecessary debt because they cannot control their credit card use and spending money they don’t have.

Be more organized. Sometimes we miss paying bills or misplace a few of our things because we forget where we put them or we don’t keep track of them. This lack of organization causes us to waste valuable resources.

Treat your savings like bills that need to be paid every month. Set a fixed amount or a percentage of your monthly income as your savings and make sure you set it aside when you do your budgeting.

Think long term. Start saving for college when your children are still babies. Of you can start saving for retirement early on in your career.

Compare prices. I would recommend comparing prices for similar products. I was looking to buy my 12 year old twins call phones, but did not want to spend an arm and a leg on them. After weeks of searching and comparing, I found an exceptional offer by Tracfone and Verizon Wireless. It’s $45 for unlimited talk and text and 30MB of data. It’s great cause there are no activation, overage, or cancellation fees. Best part is: it’s on America’s most reliable network.
